Daily Detox tip #2: Mother Nature Knows Best
In nature, nutrition already comes in the perfect package. In the right composition and combination of different minerals, vitamins, trace elements, and bioflavonoids that are perfect for your body to absorb. The antioxidant power of vitamin C is much stronger in a whole fruit than in the isolated (synthesized) form.
Make fresh fruits and vegetables your number one choice for snacks.
And for when you get tired of apples and pears, just check what else you can make with them. We have some ideas.
Fill half your plate with fresh vegetables or fruits. At every meal.
That way, you get plenty of fiber and water that help to remove waste products. At the same time, you maximize your intake of antioxidants and minerals like iron, magnesium, and zinc that are so important for the health of your cells, radiant skin, and strong nails.
Add these top detoxifiers to your meal as often as possible:
Celery, parsley, coriander, & seaweeds. This helps with the elimination of heavy metals. Heavy metals that you can get from food (from cans) but also by eating fish, metals that end up in tap water or enter the body through cosmetic products. Viruses feed on these metals, just like (the not so good) bacteria feed on refined sugars.
Follow our 7 day detox program with light meals, filling smoothies, warm soups, and healthy snacks. The perfect kickstart to a healthier eating pattern and the way to safely eliminate waste products while getting a maximum amount of new vitamins and minerals.

Daily Detox tip #3: Nourish your gut flora
The intestines are a mini-ecosystem on their own. The surface area is immensely large and billions of bacteria live there. The intestines are an important part of the digestion process. The healthier the intestines, the better food can be digested and nutrients can enter the bloodstream through the villi in the intestinal wall and be transported to the cells. The intestines also play a big role in the immune system and substances like serotonin (happiness hormone) are produced here.
Basically, everything we’ve mentioned before is important for a healthy gut flora:
– water
– fibers
– greens
Processed foods, refined sugars, trans and saturated fats are a party for the ‘bad’ gut bacteria and viruses. In your intestines, there is always a combination of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ bacteria. You need both for a balanced healthy gut flora. Problems only arise when you have too many of the not-so-good bacteria. It doesn’t mean you can never open a bag of chips, bottle of wine, or pack of cookies again. But by keeping the balance towards unprocessed fresh food, this can also translate into a healthy gut flora. One of the most common feedbacks about the daily menus from Your 50 Days of Green Happiness is that the bloated belly and embarrassing gas formation have reduced so much. And that’s largely thanks to the better composition of the gut flora!
