Are you going out for dinner with friends or looking for a nice spot for you and your date? How about Pizza heart bar? Because a pizza can absolutely be vegan. And then you certainly don’t have to eat a dry tomato pizza, definitely not.
Pizza Heart Bar is a nicely decorated restaurant with large patio doors. You can sit splendidly outside in good weather but also inside on the cozy benches or take a seat at the large bar. You overlook a large open kitchen with, of course, an enormous pizza oven where you can see how your vegan pizza is prepared. Want just a drink? No problem, they also make delicious cocktails here.
We <3 vegan Italian food
In Italian cuisine, they use a lot of cheese and meat, but it can also be completely plant-based. How? They know all too well here. Starting with antipasti of bruschettas, vegan cheese with tomato, tasty nuts, fresh bread & grilled vegetables. And, of course, a nice red wine. Then as a main course, of course, a vegan pizza with among others vegan mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, zucchini, capers, basil, and black olives. So good!

Pizza without dip
What makes the pizzas from pizza heart bar so special is that the pizza bases are easily digestible, and an ‘after dinner dip’ is not given a chance. This has to do with the fermentation process; they let the bases rise for 72 hours. This allows it to reach the ideal fermentation point and requires much less yeast than in normal pizza bases. This way, the pizza becomes wonderfully crispy and not so ‘chewy’. The vegetables used are incredibly fresh, and there was not an exaggerated amount of cheese on the pizza, just right! If you prefer a whole wheat base as a foundation, that is also possible. We shared the pizzas so that we could taste a bit of each one.
More than pizza
Not in the mood for pizza? The menu also offers various pastas, lasagna, and salads. And, of course, don’t forget to leave a little room for dessert. We went for the vegan cheesecake with a scoop of coconut ice cream, yum! But there’s a lot more to choose from. As the icing on the cake, you can also take away here. So if you don’t feel like cooking and prefer to eat at home? Then you can order conveniently. Although, of course, it’s much cozier to go eat at this atmospheric restaurant Buon appetito!
