The Green Paradise in Enschede
All our books are shipped from the East of the country, specifically Enschede! That’s why we visited there once last week. It was quite a road trip from Amsterdam! But the combination with this amazing hotspot made the ride totally worth it: Het Paradijs. It’s worth taking the drive to the East of the country for this place.
The entire menu is vegetarian with various vegan options. As a starter, we shared the falafel balls with delicious sweet onion compote and a pancake with zucchini, spinach, and hazelnuts. Especially the latter was super tasty! A great inspiration to try making it yourself sometime…
For the main course, we had a lemongrass curry and a Mediterranean stew. Both were slightly different from the ‘standard’ ones we’re familiar with from most restaurants, making them surprisingly delicious.
The restaurant is a beautiful indoor garden, as if you’re in a tropical country or walking into a butterfly garden. We spent the entire time just looking around, as there’s so much to discover! There are all kinds of cozy corners, a little stream running through the restaurant (where the turtle lives), and stairs you can go up and down.
