Ham and eggs for breakfast if you go to London? Definitely not needed. In the beautiful British capital, you will find plenty of healthy, vegetarian, and vegan (oh, and even gluten-free!) hotspots.

Tibits – 12-14 Heddon St, Mayfair
In a side street of the super popular Regent Street, you will find Tibits, a very cozy restaurant where you can go for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The concept? You fill your plate with all the goodies the buffet offers you and then your plate is weighed. You pay for what you’ve put on your plate so that almost no food has to be thrown away. The restaurant is vegetarian with many vegan and even gluten-free options. Each dish indicates whether it is vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, etc. Handy! And no standard boring buffet here. How about sweet potato falafel, oven-roasted parsnips with delicious herbs, all kinds of vegetables, oven-roasted potatoes, grilled eggplant, etc? I went back to the buffet even though I was really very full. It was so tasty! And I haven’t even mentioned the desserts. The restaurant even has its own cookbook called Vegan Love Story. Love it!

Vantra Vitao – 5-27 Oxford St
In the middle of Soho you can visit Vantra. When you step inside here, you almost feel as if you are not in England anymore, but in a little restaurant in a tropical paradise. Everything here is vegan, and the food is prepared to extract as many nutrients as possible. Therefore, everything is raw raw or steamed. Even the brownies and cheesecake! Here too you can go along the buffet with your plate or choose a dish from the menu. I did both so that I could taste a little bit of everything. The buffet is packed full of tasty vegetables, chickpeas, etc. And on the menu, you’ll find mouth-watering dishes like the Flaxseed Wrap, Stuffed Courgette with Seed Cheese, marinated tempeh with vegetables and quinoa, and many more delights. The juices and smoothies here are also fantastic. Truly a treat for your body and your taste buds.

Vegan Hippo – 52 Rupert St
For burgers and hot dogs without animal products, you can go to Vegan Hippo. I went for the Jackfruit burger, and my companion had a hot dog with extra cheese. Dessert? A piece of carrot cake. Very yummy!

Good Life Eatery – 69 Marylebone Ln, Marylebone and two other locations
Start your day with an Acai bowl, a matcha chia seed pudding, or coconut yogurt at Good Life Eatery. But this trendy little restaurant also offers salads, wraps, soup, curries, and more. Good to know: it’s a healthy restaurant with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

Planet Organic – 23-24 Tottenham Court Road and six other locations
I walked into this store with my mouth open. Everything is organic and fantastic. And they have so much. From ready-made sweet potato falafel with tamarind sauce to about 50 kinds of organic and fair trade chocolate. And you can also sit here to eat or take something away. You understand: I had to pop in here every day.

Rawligion – 3 Tottenham St, Fitzrovia
Unfortunately, this little restaurant was closed when I wanted to visit. All the food they serve here is organic and where possible raw. Here too you have Acai bowls for breakfast, lunch dishes like kelp noodles and cauliflower sushi, and all sorts of juices and desserts.

Sagar – Royal Opera House, 31 Catherine St, and two other locations
A vegetarian Indian restaurant, where I unfortunately did not have time to visit. Known for its curries and thalis.
Mildreds – 45 Lexington St, Carnaby, and two other locations
Hearing dishes like ‘Sri Lankan sweet potato and green bean curry with roasted lime cashews, pea basmati rice, and coconut tomato sambal’ makes my mouth water, but unfortunately I ran out of time to visit the chic vegetarian Mildreds restaurant.
Thanks London, see you soon!
