Green hotspots in the Netherlands
We love green hotspots. And we’re not just talking about places where you can drink healthy green smoothies. This time we’re talking about stores where you can buy plants. Botanical (or as it’s trendily called ‘Urban Jungle’) is totally the trend of 2017. An interior is only complete when there is a cactus, succulent, banana plant, or the well-known pancake plant. And honestly, plants provide a fresh look in the house and make you happier. At least, they do for us. So we’re in full agreement with the trend. The greener, the better and more fun! We have found some great shops for you and listed them. So, if you find yourself in one of these cities, don’t forget to drop by and score one of these green guys!
PLUUM treats and trinkets – Burgsteeg 2 Leiden
This store is full of interior and knick-knacks! But recently they have transformed the back part of the store into a green plant shop. You can find all sorts of shapes and sizes here. From a pancake plant to a small coffee plant. Bet your interior will look even nicer after a visit to this store? And oh… you can also find a trendy plant pot or bag there!
WILDERNIS Amsterdam – Bilderdijkstraat 165F, Amsterdam
This is a shop you MUST visit if you’re in Amsterdam. A shop full of plants. And with all sorts of things that also relate to plants, such as gardening tools, watering cans, seeds, and cozy pots. But also posters and cards featuring plants. You can find a plant here for outside, inside, or on your small balcony. You can’t imagine anything too crazy. We are sure that you’ll be happy here and leave the store with a big smile (and most probably with a cactus 😉 )
OERWOUD Den Bosch – Vughterstraat 84 Den Bosch
This is a really cool concept where we visited some time ago for a snack and a drink: city garden shop and health café OERWOUD, where you can pick up plants but also relax in the café at the back. Plants hang and stand everywhere, and you immediately feel like you’ve landed in a jungle. It’s nice that we have many plants at the office that come from OERWOUD. We are actually huge fans of this hotspot. So definitely worth stepping inside, admiring beautiful things, and enjoying a delicious healthy smoothie.
Plantaardig City Garden Shop – Zusterstraat 10 Middelburg
In Middelburg is the city garden shop. They sell different types of houseplants, organic seeds, cuttings, garden tools, cards, pots, and beautiful flowers for vases! They really have everything, and the store looks fantastic because of it! It’s nice that they also rent and exchange plants. And if you go on vacation, there is even a dedicated plant hotel! Amazing, right?
